THE SITUATEDNESS OF DESIGN CONCEPTS: EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE FROM DESIGN TEAMS IN ENGINEERING

Abstract Situatedness in design suggest that designing is situated within the process or cognitive actions taken by designer, designer's expertise and know-how, experience generally interactions specific task being undertaken as well with artefact generated. In this paper, we analyzed situatedness of concepts generated teams professional engineers during a task. The method combines protocol analysis, Natural Language Processing network theory to provide representation measurement overtime. Providing empirical evidence has been overlooked research. results presented paper outlines foundation empirically explore situatedness.
